Thanks to everyone who pitched in on the beautiful ski dock. A bell in honour of Brian Welch will be placed on the dock – thanks to Danielle and Gord for sourcing this beauty!

A big Sakinaw weekend ahead. Pickleball tournament #1 followed by the summer social! Make sure you sign up for your membership before Saturday. All members will have the chance to win gift cards from Brickers Cidery or Gibsons Butcher – the draw will be held at the social.

Pickleball Tournament Info

Two players have injuries and won’t be able to participate – if you want didn’t get a chance to sign up and want to join, text Barry Krangle at 604-989-8905. Also, the Canada vs Morocco World Cup game will be on during the tournament. If anyone has a laptop that they can bring along, we can try and set up a viewing station to catch some of the action between matches. If you are registered for the Pickleball Tournament, you will be emailed instructions and tournament format.

We are celebrating the start of summer with the first of three pickelball tournaments followed by a summer social at the Vertes property.

Pickleball tournaments are back! Entry fee is $10. The tournament will run from 9 am until 1 pm at Pender Harbour High School.

The fun continues at the Sumer Kick-off party hosted by Selina and Steve Vertes. Festivities begin at 4 pm and the location of the Vertes cabin is shown on the map below.

SLSBC 2026 Tournament Shirt Design Contest: Every year at SLSBC we create a new tournament shirt design – and this year, we want your ideas! Make it a family GPT event – use AI, sketches, artwork, slogans, or old-school creativity to come up with the next legendary tournament T-shirt. Kids, parents, grandparents and cabin neighbours are all encouraged to join in. Send submissions to info@slsbc.ca by May 31, 2026. The winning design will be selected for this year’s official tournament T-shirt. With that, you get eternal Sakinaw glory and unlimited bragging rights!
