Annual Tournament Saturday August 18th

Hi everyone,

We are excited to remind you that this Saturday, August 18th, is our annual Sakinaw Lake Ski & Board Club tournament!

We welcome participants of all ages, regardless of abilities, including those who have never skied the course! Come out and have some fun and laughs. First time in a ski competition? Don’t worry, we have categories for both adults and kids who have never made it through the course!

If you prefer being in a boat, rather than behind one, come cheer on the “excellent display of water skiing talent cruising the lake” – Sunshine Coast Tourism.

7AM Waterskiing
10AM Wakeboarding
11AM Wakesurfing

All events first come first served.

Join us on the dock at 1:30PM after the competitions for hot dogs and hamburgers, with some sensational awards at 2PM from Lulu Lemon, The Boardroom, The Blackfish, Columbia Fuels, Petro-Can, Swish, Zokolo, Madeira Pharmacy, IGA Madeira Park, GBS, and more!

If we end up behind schedule (not unheard of!) we’ll send out updates throughout the day.

Also we have some great draw prices, including paragliding off Mt. Hallowell (tandem with instructor), Cocktail Cruises with lake celebrities, and Fishing Adventures! All club members and competitors eligible for the draws.

The forecast looks great, but in the event of rain, we will postpone the tournament until Sunday August 19th.

We are still looking for pickup boats for Wakeboarding. If you’re available, let us know.

Boat & Driver Needed This Sunday

Mid-Summer Social 2PM Today

SLSBC Mid-Summer Social This Saturday

The Campbells are hosting the SLSBC mid-summer social this Saturday at 2 pm!

Hamburgers, hotdogs, and soft drinks will be provided. Please bring an appetizer with you and your own booze. This event is also open to non-club members who are interested in learning more about the club. A great chance to socialize with your neighbours on the lake.

The Campbells cabin is at the south end of Bear Bay. There is an easy to spot hot tub painted like a Campbell’s soup can on the property. Hope to see you there and thank you to the Campbells for hosting!

Clinic Registration Now Open

We have two great clinics already lined up for the summer.

Karina Nowlan will be at the lake July 28-29. The cost will be $115 for two sessions that will be held Saturday morning, Saturday evening, or Sunday morning. And Tessa Campbell will be hosting a FREE Saturday clinic on August 4th.

2018 AGM This Weekend!

Hello everyone,

The lake is rapidly warming up and summer is just around the corner!

This year our AGM will be on May 20th at 2PM at the Cameron’s cabin. Thanks to Greig and Dana for hosting us. We’ll give you an update on the club and let you know what we have planned for 2018.

Bring an appy to share and your beverage of choice. If you know anyone that might like to join the Sakinaw Lake Ski & Board Club, bring them along, we’d like to meet them!

Membership renewal will open later this week, we have a brand new system that should be easier than ever.

Annual Tournament August 20th

Hello SLSBC Members,

The annual ski/board/surf tournament is approaching quickly, the tournament is scheduled for Saturday, August 20th. Get out on the water now to practice your skills, tricks, and moves!

If you have never been in the tournament before, the event is all about participation, we all want to do well, but we want to have fun and get as many people involved as we can. If you don’t know what category you are in, don’t worry we will set you up, just come out and have some fun!

All members are welcome!

The schedule of events are as follows:

Please show up on the ski dock and the dock starter will put your name down and let know when you will be going.

7:00 am – Skiing – all ages and abilities

9:30 am – Wakeboarding – all ages and abilities

10:30 am – Surfing – all ages and abilities

12:30 pm – Barbeque – hamburgers and hot dogs, bring your favorite beverage

1:00 pm – Awards ceremony

If there is rain on Saturday we will run the event on Sunday, same times.

If you have not paid your club dues for this year, please bring cash or cheque as only club members can participate in the tournament. Also, if any members have not paid yet for the clinics, please bring what you owe.

We have lots of great prizes from many different sponsors this year! We will also be doing the annual beer raffle, so please bring money to the barbeque!
